The Great SAP Event: SAPPHIRENOW 2017
The annual SAPPHIRENOW or SAPPHIRE 2017 conference brought together nearly 30,000 participants from around the globe in Orlando, Florida.
SAPPHIRE NOW features 1,200 educational sessions, meetings with business and industry experts, 5,000 exclusive meetings with SAP executives, and the presence of more than 250 technology partners, integrators, and startups, not to mention exceptional keynotes. This is THE annual SAP event where major announcements are made, akin to an Apple Keynote or, more recently, Google I/O.
Some Important Announcements
In 2016, the major announcement was the partnership with Microsoft. In summary, this year there are 3 standout announcements:
- SAP Leonardo: understanding this new “digital innovation system” for rapidly activating a company’s innovation capabilities
- SAP/Google co-innovation partnership: new certifications of SAP technologies and applications on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- SAP Cloud Platform: offers an agile multicloud environment, allowing clients to develop and operate their applications on the provider infrastructure of their choice: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), GCP…
The Standout SAP Analytics Announcement
If there is one announcement to highlight: yet again (yes, once more), SAP decides to change the naming of some products and applications. Fortunately for us and for you, these are only minor changes.
Of course, we’ll note SAP BusinessObjects Cloud becoming SAP Analytics Cloud or SAP BusinessObjects Lumira becoming SAP Lumira.
