If you choose your ERP or BI system on the basis of specifications or “questionnaires” with a very binary approach (yes/no) and some uncertain, potentially conflicting, answers, you run the risk of overlooking the real issues and objectives your project is intended to meet. Quantitative factors – the percentage of functional coverage – then prevail over the qualitative aspects in terms of consistency and adaptability of the main functions covered, the solution’s agility, what sets it apart, etc.
